Description: One of a handful of sequences I took between Christmas and New Year's in 2011 on the island of Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts. The meteor flashes into existence at 0:04 (anything else you saw flash across the sky was an airplane). It burned up in the atmosphere about 50-60 miles up. The smoke train residual from the meteor lasted over 5 minutes, slowly dissipated by upper atmosphere winds. nnDetails: No dolly (due to travel logistics from the trip), just a tripod. Nikon D7000, ISO 6400, f/3.
