Description: An acoustic guitar piece composed and performed in memory of my father, South African World War 2 veteran William Howard Savage. He was a Sapper in the South African Engineer Corps. After the Allies' defeat at Sidi Rezegh, the fall of Toburk and the retreat known as the Gazala Gallop, my father was part of the eventual victory over Rommel's Axis forces at the second battle of El Alamein from 23 October to 4 November 1942.
