Nvidia announced a 10-for-1 stock split in May, which will take effect after trading closes on June 9th. Investors who own Nvidia stock at the end of trading on Thursday will receive 9 additional shares for every 1 share held. The stock price will be adjusted to reflect the split, with trading of the split shares beginning on Monday at the new lower price. Nvidia's market cap surpassed $3 trillion in part due to news of the large stock and dividend payouts and a major order from Tesla.
