Description: The Environmental Technology group of the University of Valladolid and the company Aqualogy, have developed a continuous thermal hydrolysis process for sewage sludge pre-treatment (HTC). This technology permits optimizing the anaerobic digestion, by increasing the biogas production while improving the digester operation as well as the characteristics of the digested sludge.nnSince the thermal hydrolysis system is energy self-sufficient, an energy supply is not needed for the pre-treatment unit.n
