She lost one of her hands at an earlier age to the predations of a witch doctor named Natron, who mutilated her for his potions.<br/><br/>Mansa has had to live with the aftereffects of the violence, neglecting her work as a teacher and her role in the community. She is consumed with the idea of getting back at the man who treated her so inhumanely. She enlists her father to pose as a potential client to Natron, luring the witch doctor out of his home, where she can exact her revenge.<br/><br/>Written and directed by Luke Bradford, this Oscar-longlisted short thriller offers a propulsive, dynamic take on the plights of individuals with albinism in many African countries, who are believed by witch doctors to have magical properties and who hunt people with albinism down, mutilating them. It generates compelling suspense in following the plight of Mansa, who seeks revenge on the witch doctor and gets inside the headspace of someone traumatized by violence, who can't seem to shake its aftereffect.<br/><br/>The subject matter will be difficult and shocking to many, and through its energetic pace and vivid, dazzling visuals, the film offers a visceral and powerful way to enter into the issue and tap into the profound injustice of it all. We also get glimpses of the albinism community, and the way they must band together to feel accepted and safe -- and are set apart from mainstream life.<br/><br/>The narrative covers a lot of ground, needing to quickly establish the cultural context, relationships and characters. It crams a feature's worth of events into the short format, juggling many story elements, though it takes more time in a slightly slower, more internal middle section exploring Mansa's trauma and the way that resentment has twisted her emotions. <br/><br/>Actor Refilwe Modiselle's performance captures how the inhumanity she faced has scarred her, twisting her emotions into a bitter resentment and rage at what happened to her. But actor Aubrey Mmakola's performance as the witch doctor Natron captures the true horror of the plight of Mansa and others with albinism. Natron looks at Mansa in their re-encounter and sees nothing but a commodity, and the matter-of-factness of his dehumanization of her is chilling, pushing Mansa to the brink in an explosive climax.<br/><br/>It's tempting to think of the idea of mutilating people with albinism as savage, superstitious and barbaric, and not go deeper into why such practices persist in the cultures that hold these beliefs. But WHITE GOLD has a slight twist at its conclusion, one that offers some subtle commentary on why these beliefs persist. In some ways, the ending is even more disturbing than it appears at first because it demonstrates how deeply embedded such ideas are into the social fabric, and how poverty and a lack of options contribute to their endurance, despite education, morality or notions of human decency. The injustice at the heart of WHITE GOLD is clear, but the solution will be much more complicated to put in place.

And it seems every eventuality is being catered for at the Emirates ahead of what could be a thrilling final day. <br/><br/>A video has now emerged online showing Arsenal's staff practicing the trophy presentation. <br/><br/>The club had laid banners reading 'Premier League champions' all over the pitch, while a stage emblazoned with the Premier League logo, had been erected in the centre circle. <br/><br/>The Premier League trophy can also be seen standing on a plinth on the stage. An identical trophy will be in Manchester this weekend if City go on to win the league instead. <br/><br/>Staff can be seen queueing and walking onto the stage, just as the players would do to collect their medals. <br/><br/>Members of the club shook hands with each other, with one person appearing to present those walking onto the stage with pretend medals.<br/><br/>An expert engraver will be on hand at each stadium to etch the required team's name onto the trophy, while a set of 40 medals will be ready to be presented at each ground.<br/><br/>Should Arsenal go on to win the league, an open-top bus parade will take place through the streets of Islington on Monday, May 20.<br/><br/>Ahead of the final day of the season, Arteta had pleaded with David Moyes to help his Arsenal side clinch their first league title in 20 years. <br/><br/>The Spanish football manager played under the Scot during his time at Everton and was hopeful West Ham could take points away from City on Sunday. <br/><br/>'He [Moyes] has been instrumental in my career,' Arteta said. <br/><br/>'Not just as a footballer, but as a person as well. That naturally included active opposition to the Jewish national home in Palestine....Germany would furnish positive and practical aid to the Arabs involved in the same struggle....Germany’s objective [is]...solely the destruction of the Jewish element residing in the Arab sphere....In that hour the Mufti would be the most authoritative spokesman for the Arab world. The Mufti thanked Hitler profusely.2<br/><br/>Two German historians say that Hitler had a plan to extend the Holocaust to the Middle East and had forged an alliance with Arab nationalists. This is perhaps why Hitler met with the Mufti and provided him a budget of 750,000 Reichsmark per month to foment a jihad in Palestine. The alliance did not alter Hitler’s racist views toward Arabs reflected in his refusal to shake the Mufti’s hand or drink coffee with him.3<br/><br/>In 1945, Yugoslavia sought to indict the Mufti as a war criminal for his role in recruiting 20,000 Muslim volunteers for the SS, who participated in the killing of Jews in Croatia and Hungary. He escaped from French detention in 1946, however, and continued his fight against the Jews from Cairo and later Beirut. He died in 1974.<br/><br/>A document attesting to the connection between Nazi Germany and the Mufti was released in March 2017.
